MONACO: one of the most surreal places you can visit in Europe.

MONACO: one of the most surreal places you can visit in Europe.

…I stayed at the hotel and have a video of the hotel and room, as well as a review on the blog. As an aside, residents of Monaco are not allowed to gamble in the casino! #3 Yacht Basin From the casino area, walk down the winding hill to the left (or right) and go to the yacht basin. This is incredible. The most jaw dropping ships are there. It is mind boggling the wealth that owners must have. It is really quite something. In winter there is a chri…

Hotel Mercure Rouen Val de Reuil France: MMM……

My review of the hotel Mercure at Val de Reuil can be summed up as: it is fine, as long as you are staying only one night as you pass through. I arrived there in the evening, and it is set among the large McDonalds and some sort of large chain steakhouse. It seems that they are there as stop off places from the near-by motorway. The first time I went to the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse (lounge) at Tokyo Narita airport it was fairly new. I seem to recall having got that in one of the airline’s mailings – but it did not register as I had not been expecting to be in Tokyo anytime soon. And here I was! And so a chance to see and exp…

Cunard Queen Victoria: 4 nights cruise May 2008: My Journal

…ntic Crossings from Southampton to New York. We drove down to Southampton, booking the car into the cruise linked parking (CPS) which is a very good service for all the cruises where they meet you when you pull up to the cruise terminal and then take the cars away. When you arrive the car is parked nearby. In the case of Cunard ships the cars are parked for collection right in the large warehouse/cruise terminal. As we got close to the Southampton…
