Hilton Hotel Zurich Airport (Review and Room Videos)

Hilton Hotel Zurich Airport (Review and Room Videos)

…f plugs (Swiss, Euro, UK and USA) is a great touch. The bathroom is really nice with grey slate style floors and trendy basin (with large mirror with lights in). There is a lot of cupboard space, and very good dressing gown.. On my first stop as I had a Hilton Honors Gold card I got put in an Exec Club Floor room. These had, as well as lounge access with evening drinks and breakfast, more touches in the room like free Toberlone chocolate treats. T…

Fairmont Hotel Santa Monica, Los Angeles (Hotel Review and Video)

Fairmont Hotel Santa Monica, Los Angeles (Hotel Review and Video)

…I would not recommend it as a vacation hotel. The hotel is roomy, on very nice lush grounds and is very well maintained. The rooms are a good size with very big comfortable beds and small but good bathrooms. There is a good sized desk to work at. The hotel is quiet – and even though I was on the 2nd floor facing the road heard no street noise. The restaurant is not that good and the food is pretty dull hotel fare with slow and not very efficient…

Cathy Pacific First Class Lounge In most of their major destinations they have separate First and Business lounges. I went to the one in Heathrow and one of them in Hong Kong (they have 2 First and 2 Business lounges as the airport is so huge!). They were quite something with even a small restaurant, working area with free internet access an…

Friends Of Dorothy Meetings On-Board Cruise Ships. What Are They?

…as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. A camp classic in the gay world. This is a nice idea, but unlikely. The more accepted origin of the term is linked to the poet, scriptwriter (of the Academy Award Winning “A Star is Born” and others), critic and civil liberties campaigner Dorothy Parker. She was known for having a lot of gay men in her glitzy social circle in the 1940s and 1950s, and one of her husbands was apparently bi-sexual. The term was used as…

Is Cunard Retaining It’s Distinctiveness Within Carnival Cruise Lines?

…ll have been the main driver. The ability to offer weddings at sea being a nice marketing side benefit. 5. On-board experiences and activities becoming more like regular cruise ships with the multitudes of on-board promotions and sales, like the chain by the inch and so on. What do I think? In my view, many of the changes are likely to be driven by the economic realities of running a cruise line and the demands of passengers. Cruising is becoming…

Transatlantic Crossing Observations on the Queen Mary 2: The Passengers. Rich? Famous? Fabulous?

…y, with a good representation of Americans. It is clearly though a welcoming place and so solo travellers and gay couples feel comfortable enough to come on a Crossing without feeling left out or isolated. Interesting jumble of people. Though it would be nice to have just more of those rich, famous and celebrity of the days of old too to bring that romance and glamour back!
