…with gapyear.com where they asked me to talk about my travel podcasts, and to give advice and tips to anyone interested in travel and podcasting. Monkey Island Hotel. Bray, England. Good for weddings! Not to stay!

…ngs as a result. My mother always told me that “if you cannot say anything nice, then do not say anything at all”. So I probably should end the review here! I had heard about the Monkey Island Hotel for about a decade. I worked not far from the hotel out in Maidenhead. The hotel is located between Maidenhead and Windsor, and about 45 minutes from London. I had thought it was an up-market and plush hotel. It looks great from the outside and the gar…

Hotel Le Germain Maple Leaf Toronto. Wow Factor!

…ooms have a real ‘wow” factor, with huge bed, long desk along the window, huge shower in the middle of the room. This is a glass sided room that has blinds if you want to be more private. The cupboards for your clothes are in the bathroom section of the room. There are nice touches like free wi-fi and a coffee making machine in the room. The breakfast buffet was small but sufficient, and the staff were really friendly and helpful there. The gym is…

Swan Hellenic Minerva Cruise Ship, Cabins & Public Spaces. My Review, Advice & Tips

…ct this helps generate the high repeat rate of travellers on the line. One nice touch is that most of the artwork around the ship is work done on-board by passengers on various cruises. So budding artists could find that the art created in a class on-board could be hanging on the ship! Silversea Silver Whisper Reviews : Verandah Suite Review and Video Tour

…annels from USA and UK. Any negatives ? More electric plug points would be nice. As a technology geek, I always have bits needing charging. There was one main plug, although I could have unplugged the clock to get another. I did find another plug under the small dressing table towards the end of the cruise only too! If from the UK, bring adaptors as the plugs are USA or Euro. The suite has style. The suite is welcoming. The suite feels special and…

10 Lasting Impressions of Silversea Cruises Silver Whisper

…elationship. The staff were all very helpful and attentive. But it is also nice to get to know a small team too. Who is Silversea best for in my view? Couples, or small groups, of all ages who are sociable and like to meet and mix with others than be constantly entertained. It was largely full of professional people and is not ideal for kids and teens as the services are not geared for them or big party loving types. Read all my articles and repor…

Tips for Travellers on Toronto Must See Attractions And Things To Do

…see the city other than going up the the CN Tower and gone to some rather nice restaurants. This changed when I got to spend some time there attending the TBEX Blogger conference and I got to spend a couple of days seeing much more of the city. I was absolutely blown away. I came to appreciate how beautiful, diverse, and interesting Toronto is. It changed my view of the city I had from my fleeting work visits. In this article I will share why. So…

St Petersburg Must See Attractions . My Tips for Travellers

…observations about St Petersburg: St. Petersburg is often viewed as the Venice of Russia. I can see why as there is water everywhere! Lots of canals, lots of islands and the massive Neva River which heads out into the Baltic Sea. This is the river you sail up to if you’re coming in on a cruise ship. St. Petersburg has the unusual honour of being known by three different names within one century. It was called Petrograd in 1914. In 1924, it turned…

Tallinn Estonia. Tips for Travellers Must See Attractions

…wn, although there are also shuttle buses normally running. There’s a very nice market by the cruise port consisting of wooden huts selling homemade crafts, beautiful wooden boxes, Christmas decorations, Estonia football gear (I guess football is very popular in Estonia!), and knitwear. It is also easy to fly into Tallinn with regular and low cost airlines, and as a result it has become quite popular for Stag weekends which is not always a good th…

Considerations when booking your port excursions. My Holland America cruise dilemma!

…services are often underutilized. If the weather is good it usually means nice and quiet decks and pools. It is also a great time to workout, lay about and for me to do things like video the ship. This is why so many of my ship tour videos have so few people in them! It is a great time for exploring the ship and using the features like water slides, crazy golf or tennis courts if the ship has them. How much do I want to spend in addition to my cr…
