The second stop on my Uniworld “Enchaning Danube” river cruise with Titan Travel UK was in the Austrian city of Linz. The third largest city in Austria is best known for being a massive steel producing centre which was oroginally set upon the orders of Adolf Hitler after he took control of the region in 1938, the home of the traditional and popular Lindertorte cake , the largest cathedral in the country and where Mozat would infrequently visit. It is also a city that is being revitalised and modernised with the addition of avant garde architecture in the form of museums, an opera house and modern new university campus creating a vibrant mix of old and new.

The highlights for me in the city are captured below and include tasting the Linzertorte, the amazing stained glass windows in the cathedral and the traditional town square.
