Cruise like a Norwegian. Yes I will!

Norwegian First timeAs followers of the blog will know, I am off for my first cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line on Sunday. I will be travelling on their Norwegian Epic ship from Barcelona to Naples and then Rome and learning how to “Cruise like a Norwegian”! It will be a few days – with a packed agenda of ship tours, meals, a visit to Pompeii and interview with some of the senior crew to find out insider tips and advice. Plus (most importantly of all) a chance to ride on the three water slides. I have my waterproof camera packed and ready – and hope to film me riding them to share with you all.

Today I got an impressive email from Norwegian. It was an email for first time Norwegian cruisers with tips and advice on “how to cruise like a Norwegian”. What I liked about it was that it has lots of advice about how to prepare for a cruise and make the most of the experience. Something that I believe passionately in. I have written a lot on this blog about tips for first time cruisers and on other blogs like the Daily Mail and Heather on her Travels (“25 tips for first time cruisers“), and my “First time cruise advice podcast” is one of the most popular I have ever done. I liked that they have taken the time to provide advice which is neatly divided into topics that include:

  • Travel documents
  • What to pack
  • Things to book in advance
  • Getting to the port
  • Hotel and land packages

They also have a specific website that (along with a catchy jingle) tells you how to “Cruise like a Norwegian” with more tips and advice. A nice touch as it helps build the excitement – and gives good practical advice. Some of the best I have seen from a  cruise line.

They also have a video explaining how to manage your booking online and ensure you prepare and book things like excursions, dining and shows:
