What does Celebrity Cruises Do Differently To Other Lines?

What makes CELEBRITY CRUISES different to other cruise lines that they compete with, such as Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Cunard and P&O Cruises? I explore what the Celebrity differences are, and what the line does better, and the same, as other cruise lines.

I’ve cruised with Celebrity Cruises several times, so I think it’s fair to say that I can note some differences between the line and others within the same class. Celebrity is a line that has grown in popularity with many cruisers and this is thanks to constant innovations and industry-firsts onboard. More of a boutique cruise line than a standard or luxury, and one that would suit the entire family.

Celebrity Cruises – a very brief history

Headquartered in Miami and a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Group, Celebrity Cruises was founded in 1988 by Greece-based Chandris Group. In 1997, they merged with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. The lines signature ‘X’ logo, which is prominently displayed on the fleets funnels is the Greek letter chi, for Chandris.

In 2005, I launched Tips for Travellers to make it easy and fun for people to discover, plan and enjoy incredible cruise vacations. And the rest, as they say, is history.
