Korianna House: A Modern, Stylish Villa To Hire on Kefalonia Greece

Korianna House Villa Kefalonia Greece

One of the options when visiting any of the main holiday destinations in Europe like Kefalonia in Greece, is to avoid hotels and resorts and find a place of your own by hiring a villa. This is often a more cost effective option if you are travelling with friends and children. Most will have a pool and so also means that you can stay at the villa some days, and avoid packing up for a day on the beach.

On a recent trip to Kefalonia we hired a stunning, modern and new villa which costs between £700 and £1500 per week to rent based on the season. It has 3 double bedrooms and so can easily sleep 6 people. It is a stylish alternative to resorts and hotels on the island.

Korianna House is located in the South East of the Island and near the Spartia region. It is about 15 minutes drive from the airport. The villa is modern and very stylishly decorated. It has a luxury and up-market feel to it. What makes it even more special is the patio has a good sized pool and a sweeping view right across to the ocean. So you can sit on the patio and enjoy the unhindered view all day. Very relaxing.

Other key features:
  • The ground floor is open plan and spacious, it is very bright and airy:
    • There are 2 seating areas, one by the fire place and then an “L” shaped sofa area.
    • A large dining table and chairs.
    • Large kitchen with dishwasher and fridge/ freezer.
    • Downstairs toilet.
    • Sky Satellite TV that gets many of the UK channels, though not BBC and ITV.
  • Upstairs:
    • Main bedroom with double bed, TV and en suite bathroom with bath. Access to a balcony
    • Second bedroom with double bed and access to the same balcony. Huge amount of storage.
    • Third bedroom with twin beds, lots of storage and a safe in one of the cupboards.
    • Bathroom with large shower.
  • Outside:
    • As mentioned there is a very large patio with outside seating, table to eat at and 6 wooden loungers and 2 parasols. There is a storage room where the the washing machine is and the cushions for the loungers.
    • Parking area for your rental car.
    • Hammock to lounge about in.
    • Built in Barbecue .

You get very detailed document from the owner (Margot) on how things work in the villa, and lots of suggestions of places to eat, shop and visit. I also, of course, recommend my own The Ultimate Tips for Travellers to Kefalonia: How To Get The Most Out Of the Island! There is a Villa Manager that will visit you that evening or next morning, and a cleaner will come in once during the week. Check in time is 4pm, and check out time is 10am.

The booking agent sites describe Korianna House as follows: “Korianna House is the dream property of a well-travelled company director who fell in love with Kefalonia and spent 10 years seeking the perfect location to build. After staying in some of the world’s finest hotels she was able to translate her vision of a modern, stylish escape into one of Kefalonia’s most beautiful villas. The property enjoys the benefits of both a tranquil, rural location with spectacular unspoiled views with local amenities within walking distance. The sunsets it enjoys are simply amazing. The property has been furnished with no expense spared, with furnishings from Feather & Black, Indian Ocean, The White Company and John Lewis among others. A unique feature wall with spotlights adds a special romantic touch, as do the many candles at the villa. The kitchen is well-equipped with incredible attention to detail, including a black granite worktop and top-of-the-range Neff appliances”

We found it to be in a great location, and loved the views. The pool was great to be able to cool off in, although we spent most of our time in the day out visiting the beaches. The place is comfortable and pleasant, especially the downstairs open plan area and patio. Recommended.
