Hilton JFK Airport Hotel New York Video Tour and Review

This is my video and review of the Hilton JFK Airport hotel in New York.

Watch my video tour, thoughts and review:

To get to the hotel from the airport can take longer than getting into New York! You have to take the Sky Train from your Terminal to the meeting point (well described in the terminal and at the Sky Train station). Then you have to wait for the Hilton shuttle bus. The bus goes every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day. Though if you just miss one bus it can take a while. It took me almost 50 minutes from leaving my terminal (American Airlines) to finally arriving at the hotel. The bus dropping off at the terminals for your flight is better as it takes you to the actual terminal. So this was much faster process in the morning. The shuttle bus leaves the hotel every half hour on the hour and half past the hour.

The Hilton JFK Airport Hotel is just like every airport hotel I have stayed at! It is dated as a building, but perfectly fine. The rooms are a decent size, with comfortable Hilton beds. There is coffee / tea making in the room (which is a plus). Instead of bath tubs, there is a large shower with glass panel. This is great – though the shower heads are old fashioned and pity they were not upgraded.

The gym facility is fine, with a few cardio machines and some free weights. The pool was popular with people travelling with children. The food and service in the restaurant was also just fine. Nothing special but not bad. Just like all airport hotels. I had access to the Executive Lounge which was equally just fine. I left too early for the breakfast, and the evening “nibbles” were a bit uninspiring.

Overall a fine hotel if you need to stay at the airport to get an early flight. As mentioned, it may not be faster to get to the hotel – but is in the morning!
