Hilton Hotel Dusseldorf (Review, photos and video)

It has been a number of years since I stayed at the Hilton in Dusseldorf. I was not looking forward to the stay as it used to be a regular place I stayed at during one of my work assignments. I was, though, very pleasantly surprised by the change. The hotel has been renovated and many good changes have been made.

One of these is the fitness centre. This used to be dire, but is now a modern facility with a good range of cardio machines and work out equipment. There is also a sauna and steam room area that looks good.

I was pleased on checking in to be upgraded to an executive floor room on showing my Hilton Gold Card. The room I was given was 1012 and although the view over the motorway was not very exciting, the room itself was great.

It is a good size with a large king size bed (they are not as comfortable as the Sheraton) they are good – and I slept very well.

There is, like most revamped Hilton’s I have stayed in, a great working area with good sized desk, proper desk chair and all the plugs you need. A really good feature. There was also a nice fruit selection, small bottle of red wine and free bottles of water. The overall decor was clean and modern, bright and airy without being overdone. I normally despair at how unimaginative hotel bathrooms are, but although small it was a good looking bathroom with some nice design touches.

I had breakfast in the executive floor lounge on the 11th floor which had a good selection of fruit, pastries and eggs/ sausages.
Nice work on the revamp overall!
