What really annoys me when checking in to a hotel I stay at a lot…

As any reader of this blog knows, I stay in hotels what seems like every week of the year. It is close but not that close.

It never ceases to amaze how some hotels can get it wrong and some so right – and most in the middle.

Especially strange in this day of computers, networks and databases.

So my pet hate hotel service is the Pullman Rive Gauche (formally Sofitel). I have stayed here so many times I even know more or less which rooms in this 600 bedroom hotel I like and do not like. Plus I am a member of the loyalty scheme and every booking has that on….

And yet EVERY time I go, they ask me to complete address and other details. It drives me nuts.

Yet, when checking into a Starwood Hotel they know how often you stay and welcome you back.

Marriott Newark Airport goes even further. They have someone at the entrance for those staying often and grab you, welcome you and hand you your room key commenting on how many nights you have stayed in Marriott and no signing in.

All very simple…

In 2005, I launched Tips for Travellers to make it easy and fun for people to discover, plan and enjoy incredible cruise vacations. And the rest, as they say, is history. I have the largest cruise vlogger channel currently on YouTube, with more than 3 million video views per month.
