The Cruise Maps Giveaway – Print Your Cruise Itinerary Map!

Last year, I highlighted ‘The Cruise Maps’ a company launched also last year by Matthew Jones and Will Ellison. They offer prints and framed prints of one’s exact cruise itinerary based on real GPS data from the trip, and they told me they use points based on 15-minute intervals to create the map. They say it is not an approximation or simple itinerary map – they use the ship’s GPS tracking data.

As noted on their website “We use satellite ship tracking technology to create the perfect representation of your exact cruise. Every special moment from your voyage is captured and preserved in beautiful detail. Each map is meticulously crafted from the ship’s own GPS data to guarantee accuracy”.

Drawing on that they create maps which you can then personalise with any title. As I discovered, it was simple and all l had to give them was the ship name, dates and start and end port.

What Cruise Maps Need

The name of the ship you sailed on.
The names of the ports where you embarked and disembarked the ship
The dates of your cruise

I had one of these maps printed for my Hapag Lloyd Greenland and Canadian Arctic trip, but recently also had a new one printed of my South Africa Silversea cruise (shown below) as they have now upgraded their paper to FSC-certified 200gsm museum quality paper, feature higher quality frames AND you can now add port names onto your map – how cool is that!? I was very excited to see these additions as it makes the map even more personal and for those of you who embark on longer voyages, it means you can remember each and every port your ship called to during your cruise.
