Watching People Reporting MSC Divina Arrival in Port Miami. My Photo Essay of the Event.

MSC Divina Port Miami

Like a diva the MSC Divina keep her audience waiting. Not for very long, but long enough to build anticipation. Along the banks were small clumps of press, fans and bloggers eagerly awaiting her arrival in Miami, her new home port. Most were clustered around their chunky cameras on tripods while also brandishing smartphones eager to record her arrival to post immediately onto social media. A few started checking their watches wondering why she was a little late.

When the diva arrived she made quite an entrance by emerging elegantly out of a wall of bright light created by the early morning sun behind her. The sun was hanging low in the sky when she slid into the Port of Miami, it was positioned right behind her as she moved slowly, almost tentatively, into her new home. She moved in a careful and elegant manner to ensure everyone had time to take in her sleek good looks and shapes.

The first we had known that she was arriving was the clattering of a helicopter echoing along the banks. The waiting clumps of people peered towards the bright light and then MSC Divina’s bow edged into view behind a raft of buildings that had been obscuring our view. Silence fell as the waiting teams took their photos, enjoyed her beauty and tapped away on their phones eager to share their images with followers, fans and cruise sites around the globe.

Below are my photos of the event. For me the people watching her arrival and marveling at her stunning design and grace say everything about the impression she made. The advertising and promotion says the MSC DIvina is “A Diva like No Other”. The waiting crowd clearly agreed.
