I loved Soho in Hong Kong. I only spend an hour or so there one afternoon but it had such a cool vibe I want to go back and see what it’s like after dark. I think I ended up having a smoothie and the New Life cafe or something like that – a sort of veggie/vegan/hippie hideaway that is a big contrast to the rest of downtown HK.
A tour of the Sydney Opera House is absolutely necessary. Also, take some time to stroll around The Rocks.
Thanks for the suggestions! Much appreciated
insingapore go to Gardens by the Bay both the cloud forest and the flower dome…do a guided city tour that tells you the history…such a wonderful place….have brunch at the greenhouse at the ritz-Carleton and look at their art….everything is so clean and mordern and there are sooooo many rich people and fast cars
Thanks for the tips! Will do!
Taronga Zoo (across the Harbour from the Opera House) is great – a fab cable car ride over the animals and terrific view of the Harbour. Shopping at the beautiful Queen Victoria Building is delightful. One of the best/cheapest ways to see and appreciate Sydney is the ferry ride to Manly – however you will probably have had that covered.
Helen, thanks for the great tips. I have not done any of these on previous visits and so they are on the list now!!!
Hi Gary,
I enjoy Tips for Travellers. Am now on QM2 as a world traveler–NYC to NYC! Stop in the Atlantic Room on Deck 11 to meet the World travelers!

Sally
It was great to get to meet you on board QM2 and hope you enjoy the rest of your world voyage. Wish we could have done the whole trip instead of just the two legs. I look forward to following you on your blog,
Gary
