White House Inn & Spa, Napa, California (review and pictures of this great new hotel)

White House Inn & Spa
This relatively new inn in Napa is excellent. It is a great place to stay in Napa.
The inn is in a large old mansion in a relatively unimpressive neighbourhood. The large white house was built around 100 years ago and has recently been restored / renovated by the new owners. They have done a magnificent job with the place.
The White House is not surprisingly white. It stands in beautifully lush grounds and looks impressive from the road. There is a large parking area which offers plenty of shade to keep cars cool.
You enter the house up some large stairs through large and impressive front door. As you enter the property there is a wow factor. The decor is stylish and not overdone. There are 2 large staircases. The staff are all friendly, not pushy but helpful when it comes to asking about tours, restaurant bookings and the like.
We were in Room 10 upstairs. This was a small suite with sitting room with desk and fireplace decorated in rich browns. There was a good sized white bathroom with 2 person Jacuzzi style bath and cosy bedroom with comfortable king bed and massive flat screen TV with large choice of channels.
The only downsides was the lounge was hot as no air con, water pressure in shower was ok but not great, there was very limited storage (small cupboard and 2 drawers). But as you can see these are really minor issues.
The hotel pool area is much better than the photos on the site. It is a decent size with loungers. The pool is not used much as people seem to be in Napa for short trips and so out all day. So we had it more or less to ourselves most days.
There is an excellent breakfast with a hot choice of the day, and nibbles and wine in the evening. We really liked this place. It was a haven of peace and quiet. Highly recommend it.
