Pier 39 would definately bottom of my list on any future visit to SFO. When I was in SFO in 2004 I was staying near Pier 39 and thought I'd check it out as apparently it was the inspiration for the Cape Town Waterfront. I was so disappointed! Perhaps I've been spoilt by the Cape Town Waterfront but I also found the food terrible at Pier 39 and it was very tourist-tacky. My favourite part of SFO was Sausalito - definitely worth a ferry trip across the bay. :-)Johttp://joduxbury.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
