Budapest is a gorgeous feast of grand buildings. It looks like it has stood grandly for an eternity. Both sides of rive Danube that run through the city are UNESCO World Heritage sites due to the stunning buildings. Even more remarkable when you discover that most of city, including the huge and impressive palace high on the hill overlooking the river, was destroyed in World War II and has been recreated.
